SVC Summer Bride, ¡Pa’ delante!

What is Summer Bridge?

¡Summer Bridge – Pa’ delante! is returning this summer 2024. Summer Bridge is a free program for first-generation, underrepresented graduating seniors. It is designed to support first-year SVC students with the transition between high school and college. Breakfast and Lunches included!!

As a Summer Bridge scholar, you will:

  • Be a part of a 70-student cohort of new, incoming SVC students.
  • Experience a supportive transition with the start of college and throughout Fall Quarter.
  • Receive College Success Skills as part of a culturally relevant curriculum taught by SVC faculty.
  • Get connected with a success coach, peer mentors, and various opportunities to get integrated into campus life.
  • Receive a comprehensive in-person orientation support, including technology access and setup, assistance with degree planning, and referrals to support programs like Cardinal Achievement Program, CAMP, Disability Access Services, Maestros Para El Pueblo, TRiO, College Success Foundation and so much more.
  • And earn free 2 college credits to get you started!

When is the program?


  • Summer Bridge Orientation: Monday, Aug. 26, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Summer Bridge Program
    • Tuesday – Friday, Sept. 10 – 13, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday – Friday, Sept. 17 – 20, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Summer Bridge Celebration Asada: Friday, Sept. 20, from 12 – 3 p.m.
    • Families are invited to join us for the orientation and asada!

Who is eligible?


  • Identify as a first-generation college student.
  • All graduating seniors (class of 2024) from any Island, San Juan, or Skagit County high school.
  • Plan to attend Skagit Valley College with a Fall 2024 start.

To guarantee you free credit you should apply to SVC and complete FAFSA or WASFA application before June 1, 2024.
