Children of the Valley Family Visit
3rd Annual Children of the Valley and SVC Event
We are thrilled to once again partner with Children of the Valley for our 3rd annual event at Skagit Valley College! This special day is designed to help children feel at home on our college campus, spark curiosity about future careers, and inspire them to see all pathways as possible. We believe it’s never too early to start exploring education and career opportunities! Families will also have access to valuable resources and support services to help them navigate the journey ahead.
About Children of the Valley
Children of the Valley (COV) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged children in Skagit Valley. Through after-school tutoring, social-emotional learning, mentorship, and family support, COV provides a strong foundation for students to grow academically and personally.
A Look Back at Last Year’s Event
Our previous event was a day filled with connection, discovery, and hands-on learning. Skagit Valley College student-athletes volunteered to coach and engage children in various sports, with golf becoming an instant favorite! The STEM Club partnered with students to conduct exciting science experiments, igniting a love for exploration. The CAMP support program led interactive campus tours, helping children envision themselves in a college environment. Meanwhile, Maestros Para El Pueblo encouraged movement and teamwork through an engaging cultural activity session.
The day concluded with a community picnic, where children and families came together to enjoy a meal, celebrate learning, and
explore a resource fair featuring local businesses and support services.
Who is This Event For?
This event is designed for Children of the Valley students and their families, providing a welcoming space to learn, grow, and dream big!
We can’t wait to continue this tradition and create another memorable and inspiring experience this year!
