Report Incidents In Progress to Security


For emergencies call 911, then call Security at 360.416.7777 (MVC) or 360.679.5383 (WIC).

Examples:

  • Stalking/Domestic Violence
  • Assaults
  • Thefts/Vehicle Prowling

To document an incident that has already occurred after 911/Security:

 

Report Accidents or Injuries or Hazards


Call 911 for serious injuries and to summon Aid, then call Security at 360.416.7777 (MVC) and/or 360.679.5383 (WIC).

Report incidents and events occurring on campuses.

Examples:

  • Suspicious persons (observed behaviors, then a description)
  • Thefts or missing property
  • Witnessed a hit and run accident in the parking lot

  • Suspicious circumstances
  • Threats, thefts, vandalism, trespassing, etc.
  • Domestic violence, stalking
  • Accidents/Injuries/Safety Hazards/Near Misses

Use the “Submit an Incident Report” button below for any safety or security issues. The Director of Security and Emergency Management will review this report. Any issues requiring additional review will be forwarded to the appropriate campus office.

Security Incident Report Workflow and Communication Plan

Incident Occurs
  • 911 and then Security is called when emergency response is necessary.

     

Reporting
    • Security responds to on-line incident reports, calls, or in-person reporting.
    • Additional information may be gathered.
    • Assessment of required next steps.
    • Incident report is created by victim or witness and Security where applicable.

Notifications Made

Director of Security may notify some of the following resources:

  • Police
  • Fire
  • SVC Emergency Operations Center (EOC) — notified whenever first responders operate on campus.
  • Title IX
  • BIRT
  • CARE
  • Conduct
  • CVV
  • Animal control

Safety Actions

When circumstances warrant, the EOC may order any or all of the following:

  • Lockdown
  • Emergency Notification – RAVE/Alert us
  • Timely Warnings
  • Other directed communications
  • Additional investigation

Monitoring

Will occur with or without EOC actions.

May include:

Referrals to internal and external partners to mitigate effects on the incident.

    • Police
    • Fire
    • Title IX
    • BIRT
    • CARE
    • Conduct
    • Safety Committee
    • CVV
    • Animal control

Security may provide:

  • Escorts
  • Extra patrols
  • Officer Standbys
  • Check-ins
  • Follow-ups

Report status

Most incidents are closed at this phase.

Some incidents are referred to internal and external partners/resources for final dispositions:

  • Police
  • Fire
  • Title IX
  • BIRT
  • CARE
  • Conduct
  • Safety Committee
  • CVV
  • Animal control

 

Final Security Steps

  • Crimes are recorded on a Daily Crime Log.
  • Clery crimes are reported in the Annual Security Report.
