Power was restored at the Skagit Valley College Mount Vernon campus. The campus is open today, Sunday, Oct. 20. All activities remain on schedule.

There is no power at the Skagit Valley College Mount Vernon campus due to a widespread power outage from weather conditions. The campus is closed and all classes and activities are canceled today. McIntyre Hall events remain on schedule.

LOCKDOWN – SVC has issued a LOCKDOWN

UPDATE: Sept. 30, 2024 – 1:37 p.m.
The lockdown is now lifted and there is an ALL CLEAR. There was a shooting incident at approximately the 2500 block of E College Way. It is currently still an active police investigation with law enforcement so avoid the area. Law enforcement has shared that the threat has left the area. Avoid going east on College Way. Traffic is blocked on E College Way near N. 26th by the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management/911 Center. All classes and activities will resume as normal.

Everyone must remain in lockdown in all buildings on Mount Vernon campus. You'll receive an ALL CLEAR message once lifted. It is not safe; stay in lockdown.

Due to unexpected worsening conditions, Skagit Valley College is closing immediately for the remainder of the day Monday, March 4. All day/evening classes and activities are canceled.

Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, all SVC campuses and centers will close at 11 a.m. for the remainder of the day Wednesday, Jan. 17. All classes are canceled, and all campus activities, including athletic and other events, are canceled.
There will be an update by 6 a.m. tomorrow morning for Thursday, Jan. 18 operations.

Power Outage at Mount Vernon Campus

UPDATE: The power has been restored at the SVC Mount Vernon campus. We anticipate there may be continued outages due to inclement weather. In the interest of the safety of our students and employees, MV campus will remain closed for the remainder of the day.

Due to the continued power outage, the SVC Mount Vernon campus is now closed. All classes and activities are canceled for the remainder of Tues., Jan. 9. Whidbey Island campus and San Juan Center as well as other college operations will remain open.
