CVV Application and Information

Applications for Campus View Village are now done on-line.

All parts of the application must be completed in order to be considered:

  • Complete the on-line application and pay the non-refundable application fee of $100.00. You may also choose to pay the $225.00 refundable security deposit at this time, or wait until an offer is made
  • Wait to receive application status updates by CVV staff (including placement on waitlists and room offer timelines, incomplete submissions, or rejected applications)
  • Waitlists accumulate all year and are normal. Our leases are quarter-by-quarter so our ability to guarantee future space is fully dependent upon our return rate
  • Once space is available, you will receive a room offer and FIRM deadline by which to accept. Failure to meet this deadline may result in CVV moving down the waitlist and your application going to the bottom of the list.
  • If you accept your room, submit a refundable security deposit of $225.00 to the Campus View Village office by stated deadline in order to confirm and reserve your room.
  • Schedule your move-in with the Campus View Village office. Please note that Campus View Village dictates move-in dates that align with the Skagit Valley College class schedule.

Housing Assignments and Roommate Placements

Assignments are priority based.  Returning students have top priority, and remaining spaces are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  CVV applications are a separate process from SVC applications, international home stay placements, or other institutional program applications.

CVV staff uses information from the “Roommate Preference Form,” which is part of the application packet to make housing assignments.  CVV staff does their best to match students with others who meet key criteria, including smoking, drinking, cleaning, and noise preferences.  CVV also tries to place international students with domestic students in order to increase intercultural learning and to allow international students the opportunity to improve English proficiency.

Typically, students who mutually request to live in the same unit as one another are accommodated, so long as the space is available to do so.  Often only one shared request can be accommodated; it is rare for students to be assigned to space with more than one person they know beforehand.

Assignments are made on a space-available basis, so nothing can ever be fully guaranteed.  Once students have moved in together, it is their responsibility to work together to ensure fair and civil oversight of their newly shared space.  CVV staff is more than willing to support students who need additional help in this transition.
